Get juiced 2

Juice up your life with the awesome benefits of fruits and vegetables

Over the last few months I was introduced to the powerful and convenient benefits of juicing. Simple, refreshing and energy has gone thru the roof. I try not to buy into hype but why else would top celebrities and athletes be chugging down this pure supercharged nutrition?? So I am super stoked that I gave it a try… now I’m drinking the amount of an average American’s  weekly vegetable and fruit in one big delicious glass. The most common advice that I recommend to people looking to improve their health is simple, EAT MORE REAL FOOD! Raw and enzyme rich preferably! Of course I hear all of the excuses: “I don’t have the time” “I don’t know how to get them” I’m allergic” I’m too lazy” “I love being out of shape and sluggish”

“This is one simple thing that you can add that will make a huge difference right away!”

Go fill up with some premium fuel… no easier way to load up on powerful enzymes and vitamins at their absolute cleanest and best form. Sleep better, perform better, improve skin, and function al while saving all of that digestive energy.

With juicing, all of the nutritional value is quickly and easily assimilated into the bloodstream increasing your energy, boosting your immune system, lowering your cholesterol and dramatically improving your red blood cell function. Juicing makes it convenient to get your variety of veggies all mixed in and easy to consume.

Whats in my juice?

I always go for a bulk amount of greens for the alkalizing benefit along with tall of the powerful chlorophyll to load up on magnesium, iron, vitamin A and B’s… My juice usually has a base of:

Apple:  High in fiber, it helps lower cholestrol, an ideal antioxidant, immune system booster and also aids in cleaning the digestive system.  Along with a nice energy boost and masks the taste of the rest of the veggies.

Beets: Loaded with vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and C.  The greens have a higher content of iron compared to spinach.  They are also an excellent source of calcium, magnesium, copper, phosphorus, sodium and iron. Great blood building and cancer fighting properties

Carrot: Rich in beta carotene and Vitamin A for eye health. Good for gastrointestinal health, helps cure stomach and digestive problems. Cures heart burn.

Celery: contains vitamin C and several other active compounds that promote health, help lower cholesterol and also may be useful in cancer prevention. Excellent for cleansing the digestive system of uric acid . Useful for people with Gout and urinary infections. Celery juice also helps calm the nerves and reduces stress.

Cucumber: Water based cucumber juice is a good source of potassium, beta carotene, silicon, sulfur, sodium and phosphorus. Its a Diuretic, provides healthy nutrients to the skin, soothe skin irritations, reduce swelling under the eyes and sun burns

Garlic: The health benefits of garlic revolve around its anti-microbial effect, its antibiotic and immune enhancing ability and its many anti-oxidants.

Ginger: The health benefits of ginger are endless. They have properties rich in anti-oxidant,
anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer; providing natural cure to numerous disorders. Helps stomach discomfort, colds, fatigue, and inflammation.. all while being an aphrodisiac!

Kale: Good source of vitamin C, A, iron and calcium. Very alkalizing and blood cleansing

Spinach: Good source of iron, folate and beta carotene.

And I’ll add in some spirulina for some additional plant based protein… ultimate superfood. Most commonly I will be on the go and drop in a juice bar like whole foods and ask for all of the veggies.

On top of a surge of energy.. I noticed that my cravings for snacks and food in general are much more controllable!

For years we’ve heard the golden rule and standard that we need our 8 servings of fruits and vegetables. One thing that virtually every expert actually agrees on, and continues to agree on year in and year out, decade in and decade out, and that’s this simple advice: Eat more vegetables.  A simple glass can give you all the benefits of a full plates worth of vegetables.

Fruits and vegetables have been scientifically proven to possess antiviral, anti-fungal, antibacterial, anti-aging and anti-carcinogenic properties. Loaded with antioxidants, vitamins for EVERYTHING, and chlorophyll for your blood and overall health Thus, the more you eat of them, the more benefits you will reap. AND the more super-charged your life will be.  This is one of the most fundamental things that you can change to see incredible easy results, without the magic pill and side effects.  I am always preaching more nutrient dense foods, “easy-in easy-out”. Here is your answer, no need to carb count, eat as much as you want, fruits and vegetables are mostly made of juice and fiber. Juice extracted from a juicer, is separated from the fiber of the plant, eliminating a digestive process. So, if consumed right away, this juice contains 95% of the food value of the fruit or vegetable. The nutrients from such juices are quickly assimilated by your body; estimated to be within twenty to thirty minutes of drinking that juice. That compared to the typical 6-8 HOURS of starchy foods and meats.

How about cooking vegetables? The difference is cooking with heat kills the nutrients in the food. For example, the vitamin C in spinach loses much of its potency when exposed to heat. Now, contrast that with juicing where little to no heat is involved. This process is convenient, cleansing, and charges you up!

Can I save more time and buy bottled juice??

Most juice you buy from the store is heat pasteurized. There are food safety laws that make this necessary. Sugars and preservatives are often added — and by the time the juice gets to you, you’d be lucky if there was any nutrition left at all. Even when preservatives are not added to commercial juices, vital enzymes that are needed for your body to digest and absorb the juice have been lost. These kinds of juices spike blood sugar, create an acidic condition in your blood and help illness proliferate. Fresh quality juices are delivering a minimally processed nutritional value that is much more dense and 10x stronger than standard juices.

When you drink raw juice, you’re getting one of the most easily absorbable forms of nourishment. Your cells get fed right away. And, you set the tone for attaining optimal health.

AND…

Juicing is great for weight loss, when you juice and eat more liquid based “easy digestible” foods you create an easier environment for your digestive process. Juicing is beneficial for weight loss because your liver, your prime detoxification organ, is also your prime fat burning organ. So when you detoxify your body, you are freeing up your liver’s resources to burn fat. However, when your body is overwhelmed with the need to detoxify itself, which is common these days, your liver will have a difficult time getting around to burning fat.

When we eat and drink empty calories and chemical-laden foods we can hold weight in the form of toxic byproducts from these foods. Soon, because of the toll this takes on us –our bodies will have a hard time assimilating nutrients from anything we eat. Juice offers a huge relief on the system. It allows us to slow down, enjoy a massive amount of predigested nutrition, and begin to flush out the poisons that literally “weigh” us down . As we release toxins, we begin fill our nutritional deficiencies and shed weight too. Start with one juice a day and see where that takes you!  Get yourself a juicer…

Start by finding a nearby juice bar in your neighborhood. Or, if you find you really love juice, it might be worth investing in a juicer. There are many models available and, though not cheap, a juicer makes getting your daily dose of fruits and veggies very convenient…. As I always say, be a detective, have fun and find out what works for YOU
Try looking into pressed juices for the purest quality!!

Cheers to drinking up the life force to charge you up.. Energize your life, mind, and body!!!
